Some pieces change the way you carry yourself the moment you put them on. I made these for the women who are done making themselves smaller - each fan cut by hand from copper sheet into its precise half-circle form, then hammered across the full two and a half inch width one strike at a time until the surface holds the warmth of every blow.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years by people who needed to feel the sun's warmth even when it wasn't there, and the women who come back to me always say the same thing: something in them opened back up.

These are among the last earrings I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find the faces that are ready to take up space.

HOW DO I KNOW IF IT'S REAL COPPER? + −

Pure copper isn't magnetic. Most of the copper jewellery sold online is either plated (a thin copper coating over a cheaper metal like steel or brass) or alloyed with enough iron or nickel to make it feel magnetic — that's the quickest way to spot a fake.

The test is simple:

  1. Grab any fridge magnet
  2. Hold it against your cuff, ring, or necklace
  3. If it sticks — even slightly — it isn't pure copper
  4. If it doesn't stick, you're holding the real thing

Every piece I make is 99.9% pure copper — never plated, never alloyed with cheap metals. Run the test on yours the day it arrives. If it ever fails, I'll refund you immediately.

Every piece I've made starts with the same intention: to be worn by someone whose body needs it.

Copper has been pressed against human skin for thousands of years — by Egyptian queens, by Roman soldiers, by every generation of women who came before us. Worn quietly, daily, against the skin. I've spent 40 years making these pieces by hand in Sedona, and I've watched people come back year after year.

What started as a craft became something I can only describe as a calling. But now, my granddaughters are growing up without me there — and for the first time in 40 years, something matters more than the work.

Every piece in this collection was made by my hands, one at a time. There are only so many I can make — and once they're gone, I won't be making more.
